Landed in New York City on Sunday, Dec 7, for their visit in the Big Apple, Prince William and Kate Middleton was photographed holding hands after an eight-hour flight via British Airways. The couple touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport and were whisked away in Manhattan's Upper East Side swankiest hotel, Carlyle Hotel.

Wearing a burgundy Seraphine coat on New York's chilly winter day, the five-months-pregnant Kate Middleton was glowing as she was escorted by Prince William to their hotel. The Duke of Cambridge was also wearing a designer suit with a blue tie as he smiled brightly in front of a crowd of New Yorkers and photographers who waited patiently for their royal entrance.

Known as a favourite among celebrities, Carlyle Hotel is reportedly Prince Diana's favourite hotel whenever she's in NYC. Based on reports, the posh accommodation features a wide range of suites with "different and unique" designs that celebrities like George Clooney are one of its loyal patrons.

Creating a lot of buzz with their royal presence, the Empire State Building's official Twitter page posted a picture of NYC's iconic building sporting the red, white and blue of the Union Jack. The post reads, "We welcome Their #Royal Highnesses The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge by sparkling in red, white and blue #RoyalVisitUSA."

The couple are scheduled to take a few hours of rest before going to their first outing that will be kicking off tonight with a private reception for the American Friends of the Royal Foundation. Based on New York Post, William's cousin Princess Eugenie, daughter of Prince Andrew and Duchess Sarah Ferguson who moved to Soho in Sept 2013, is reportedly going to join the couple in the reception.

The Cambridges' jam-packed three-day NYC tour will have a full day tomorrow, Dec 8, where William and Kate are scheduled to have an individual events to attend. The 32-year-old Prince is going to leave his pregnant wife in NYC to fly to Washington D.C. to attend a conference at the World Bank where he is going to speak at the International Corruption Hunters Alliance. After discussing the issues about illegal wildlife trafficking, he is going to meet both President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the White House.
