Pregnant Kate Middleton and husband Prince William were recently in New York for a Royal tour. Fans of the couple were believed to have been thrilled seeing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. However, one particular follower of the couple's romance thought they were a bore during the duration of their U.S. visit.

Jan Moir, a British columnist, wrote to Mail Online to express her disappointment at the recent New York visit of the couple. Their U.S. tour had supposedly proved how boring they have become in the near four years as a married couple. Moir says Kate Middleton and Prince William "have proved themselves to be as dull, dull, dull as Windsor moat water" with Moir describing them as "High Street, not high class."

"Instead, what we got are a couple of dreary suburbanites, a Mr and Mrs Bland who trundle around the world in mumsy dresses and dad-trousers, saying not very much at all. So terrified are the low-impact Cambridges of causing even a hint of controversy, they make a point of never uttering anything within ten miles of that town called Mildly Interesting," she says.

Moir believes the expectations were high for Prince William and Kate Middleton to have at least shown that "bloom" that once flourished during their fairy tale wedding. However, she likens their behaviour during their New York visit to royal robots and like "international geisha-people" who are cautious of their actions and words as not to destroy their reputation. Moir claims their visit was devoid of "drama" and there was reportedly "no sprinkling of magic dust about them."

Kate Middleton was even likened to the late Princess Diana. The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly didn't exude the glamour that Diana once had. Instead, Moir says "Kate wore 50 shades of gloom" during her trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Empire State Building. Even Prince William was allegedly demeaning during his wildlife reception speech when he said, "I 'm off to shoot some hoops now, or whatever it is you Americans say." Moir thinks his statement was rather patronising on how Americans use the word "hoops" in reference to the basketball game.

However, Jan Moir did comment on the couple as being "nice people." Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly still possess many "excellent qualities." Likewise, US Weekly claims the couple was actually happy to be in New York during their three-day U.S. visit
