Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) current women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey's love affair with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is well chronicled. The Olympian has long been publicly seen at the sideline of pay-per-view events and at one point, was even rumoured to make an appearance at Wrestlemania 31. Now, she talks a gain of the opportunity to follow the footsteps of her wrestling idol and namesake, Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Talk Sport had an exclusive interview with the undefeated UFC fighter who divulged several bombshells including her yearning to be a heel in the wrestling scene, much like her idol. She was on hand with the show to promote the release of her recent film, "Expendables 3" and was game to expound on the matter.

"Oh I would be a heel for sure. I can't take the name of 'Rowdy' and not be a heel, that would be an insult to the man I pay tribute to with my name - the great Rowdy Roddy Piper. I would have to try and live up to his legacy as much as possible and I can't do that being a babyface," Rousey explained.

This should not come as surprise to anyone given Rousey's appearance in several wrestling-related events. She was sitting on the sidelines during this year's Summer Slam event when Brock Lesnar took on John Cena for the heavyweight championship and won. After the event, she was also on hand to help Stephanie McMahon complete her ice bucket challenge. The 27-year-old judo aficionado finds wrestling so close to her heart that she even made a surprise appearance at a local wrestling event in California where she played with the crowd and chopped the chest of one of the fighters.

Aside from wrestling and her movie career, the queen bee of the UFC also has her hands full writing a memoir with her sister entitled "My Fight/Your Fight" which is scheduled to come out in the summer of next year. She is also not lagging behind with her training as she is slated to defend her title once more at UFC 184 at Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California against Cat Zingano on Feb. 28.
