Bethe Correia went too far on a comment against Ronda Rousey recently, which incurred the undefeated champion’s wrath. Rousey’s father committed suicide when she was only 8 years old. The bantamweight champion does not talk about it frequently but she revealed some details in her new book, “My Fight, Your Fight,” MMA Mania translated the Brazilian’s statements on Combate.

"She is winning, so everybody is around her cheering her up, but when she realizes she is not everything that she believes she is, I don't know what might happen. I hope she does not kill herself later on," Correia said in her native tongue.

Rousey was quick to react that her future opponent might be referring to her deceased father. She posted on Twitter that suicide is no joke, or a means to hype up their fight at UFC 190 on August 1, 2015. “My father will be with me the day I hand you the comeuppance you deserve,” Rousey tweeted.

Correia realized her error and replied that she was ignorant about Rousey’s father and that she humbly asks for forgiveness. The Pitbull added that family is sacred and told Rousey that she will see her at UFC 190.

MMA Junkie wrote that if Correia was trying to bring more attention to the match or anger Rousey, she accomplished both. Rousey has a 11-0 MMA record while Correia has 9-0. The two will meet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to headline UFC 190. Fans are siding with Rousey in their upcoming fight, considering how the champion easily decimated her last two opponents in under a minute in the first round. Correia and Rousey have been trash-talking in the past months leading to their fight. Considering the impact of Correia’s recent statement and apology, things may be quiet for a while until the tension breaks.
