Perhaps the most hated character in the franchise – Jar Jar Binks is back in a “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” parody trailer. The video superimposes the character’s head in some scenes and there is also some footage from the prequel movies.

The new trailer of Gareth Edwards’ movie begins with what seems like a city controlled by the Empire. The parody video posted on YouTube calls this city “Gungans Rock.” Gungans are the native species of the planet Naboo and Jar Jar Binks is a Gungan.

There are two kinds of Gungans. There are the large Gungans such as Boss Nass and there are the lean kind like Jar Jar Binks. The parody video shows Boss Nass saying that the world is coming undone.

The video then shows a scene where Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is taken to the leaders of the Rebel Alliance. But, instead of the protagonist the viewers see Jar Jar Binks. One of the important Rebel leaders in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). The parody trailer replaces this character with the young Leia (Carrie Fisher), who starts to sing for no apparent reason.

Fans of the franchise may remember the song from the much criticized “Holiday Special” TV program that aired on CBS in 1978. The program featured most of the main characters from the original trilogy listening to Leia sing. A video of the full song is available on YouTube for the fans to watch.

The parody trailer of “Rogue One: A star Wars Story” seems to be a reminder of all the bad decisions of the franchise. The video has the head of George Lucas superimposed on the villain Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn). But most of the video is focused on Jar Jar Binks. “Mesa back,” the character says.
