Cast member Mads Mikkelsen spoke about his character in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in a recent interview. The actor said that Galen Erso was the “most guilty man” for being involved in the Death Star project.

The Death Star is a powerful space battle station constructed by the Empire. The weapon is capable of destroying a whole planet in a single attack. Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) is the brilliant scientist whose work on laser technology is the key in making the weapon a reality.

In an interview with IGN, Mikkelsen was asked about the level of guilt his character feels for being instrumental in creating the weapon in the Death Star. The character also had to leave his daughter in order to focus on the project.

Mikkesel said that “leaving” is a big word, as it indicates Galen had a choice. The actor explained that his character is not in a good position in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” because he had no choice in the matter. Despite that, the actor felt that his character is “the most guilty man in the world.”

It must have been hard for Galen to cope with working on the Death Star away from his daughter, Mikkelsen said. The actor added that if there was a way out for him from the situation he would have taken it.

The main plot of the movie revolves around Galen’s daughter Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) leading a group of Rebels to steal the plans of the Death Star. The main villain in the movie, who is a part of the super weapon project, is Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn). Darth Vader (voice by James Earl Jones) will also be seen briefly in the film.

The Empire will be preparing to test the Death Star in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” So, the Rebels are hard pressed for time to get the plans and learn about any weaknesses they can exploit.
