World No. 5 Roger Federer will square off against World No. 11 Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth-round of the 2017 Wimbledon on Monday. Federer is just four wins away from winning an unprecedented eighth Wimbledon title, 14 years after winning the Championships for the first time in 2003.

Dimitrov, a former semi-finalist at SW19, has yet to a drop a set at this year's Wimbledon and would prove to be a worthy opponent to Federer, who entered this year's tournament as the odds-on favourite. At the start of the year, Dimitrov pushed Rafael Nadal to a five-set classic in the Australian Open semi-final before struggling through the American hard court season. However, he has a good track record on grass courts.

Federer holds a 5-0 advantage in five previous meetings against Dimitrov but acknowledged the Bulgarian as a threat after putting away Germany's Mischa Zverev in straight sets on Saturday.

"Every time I play against him (Dimitrov) he's stronger than the time before. He's in the perfect age right now where he starts to understand his game best. He's physically strong and he's mentally taken the next step. That's what you expect from a player of his calibre. I'm ready for a tough one but sure again, another exciting match because he's a great shot maker," said Federer while speaking after Saturday's 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Mischa Zverev.

After beating Zverev for the third time in 2017, a relaxed Federer refused to be burdened by the weight of potentially becoming the oldest winner in Wimbledon history (in the Open Era). "I thought it was a fun match to play against a serve-and-volley player. You'll always see some lobs, passing shots and drop shots. We go one round at a time and I must say it's always the first goal to get to the second week at some stage. I'm very happy now to sit back, relax a day and come back strong, hopefully on Monday."

Ken Rosewall of Australia remains the oldest player to win a Grand Slam in the Open Era. At 37 years and two months, Rosewall won the 1972 Australian Open. Earlier this year, Federer (at 35 years and 174 days) became the second oldest win a Slam when he beat arch-rival Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open final. Federer turns 36 this August. He would have to win a Grand Slam in 2019 to beat Rosewall's record.

On Monday, Roger Federer's fourth-round tie will be the third scheduled match on Centre Court after Venus Williams and Andy Murray complete their Round of 16 affairs. Murray, the defending champion, will face Benoit Paire before Federer arrives at Centre Court.
