Manchester United striker Robin van Persie revealed that he is uncertain whether he will sign a contract extension with his club or not. Although the 31-year-old had a successful time with Netherlands under Louis van Gaal during the World Cup, he has yet to replicate his form at club level.

Van Persie’s contract is set to end in the summer of 2016, and when asked if he wants to extend his deal, the striker said that it is not up for him and thus far, he is staying with the club for 18 months. “I can’t look into the future. I don’t know what is going to happen after that. We shall have to wait and see,” van Persie said.

The 31-year-old striker, who managed only eight goals in 25 appearances, claimed that he’s been unhappy with his form. The Dutch international thinks that the whole team must own responsibility for struggling to score recently and for the uneven campaign in cup and league.

Last Friday, van Persie missed a clear chance and Manchester United struggled to a 0-0 draw in FA Cup fourth-round tie. The striker thinks that everyone is responsible and he expressed his desire to score more. He claimed that he will do everything to make goals to make people happy.

In a recent survey conducted by the Manchester Evening News, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao were identified as players with points to prove to Manchester United fans. Approximately 6,000 fans were given options to sign them up for a long-term contract, sell them or make them sit on the fence.

The survey revealed that 96.87 per cent wants David de Gea to be offered a new contract deal while, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao did not receive such a unanimous vote. According to the report, 33 per cent of respondents believe that Radamel Falcao should be signed a permanent deal, while 45.67 per cent wants to wait until the end of the season before deciding.
