Mitch Lucker, the vocals behind heavy metal band Suicide Silence has died Thursday morning after sustaining injuries in a tragic motorcycle accident Wednesday night.

Lucker, 28, had reportedly lost control of his 2013 Harley-Davidson while driving in Huntington Beach. He was thrown off his bike when it hit a light pole. The young metal singer was treated on the scene before being rushed to the UC Irvine Medical Center, but he died just about 9 hours later.

"There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts," the band Suicide Silence posted to their Facebook page.

Lucker has left behind a 5-year-old daughter. In a 2009 interview with noisecreep.com, he said being away from her daughter is difficult for him. But he could not support his family without going on tour, so he would just tell his daughter: "Daddy is going to leave and go play music now!"
