While buyers would have to wait longer for the release of “Rime” in the Nintendo Switch, they would also have to pay more. The upcoming game will be released by the end of May. However, it will only be released for the PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait quite a while as the game is speculated to be released in December. While Switch owners will need to wait, they would also have to pay more for the physical version of the game. Compared to the PS4 and Xbox One on EB Game’s prices, the Switch version of the game will cost at least $20 more.

According to a report, it is unknown why the game costs more on the Switch console. Developer Tequila Works does not provide an answer for this. However, a representative of Grey Box, the publisher of the game, said, “We set prices for our products based on the costs of development and publishing for each specific platform.”

Kotaku revealed that the reason why the game costs more on the Switch is due to the use of the Nintendo Switch cartridge, which has higher manufacturing cost than a Blu-Ray disc for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. While this suggests that the Switch game will likely cost more, the publisher has not confirmed this, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

‘Rime’ details

The upcoming game comes with the tag line “discover yourself.” It offers players to explore a mysterious island while interacting with the wildlife in search for hidden items. Players would also be required to solve puzzles as they make their way through ancient ruins while unraveling hidden marvels. This single-player game will allow people to explore the beautiful world of Rime as they dive deep into the main character’s backstory. The game is inspired by the wonders of the Mediterranean.

Release date and price

The “Rime” release date is on May 26 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, according to EB Games. This game will cost $59.95, $59.95 and $54.95 respectively. As of the time of writing, the game is available for pre-order on most online game retailers. As mentioned earlier, the game will cost $79.95 for the Switch console. In addition to this, it will also be released in late 2017. It is speculated that the Switch version of the game will be released in December, according to Gamestop.
