A New York City judge has ordered a man to stay away from pop star Rihanna. The man in question is an alleged stalker found lurking outside her Manhattan apartment.

Kevin McGlynn has been accused of stalking Rihanna and harassing her through threatening letters and notes, which contained references to violence and sexual assault in July this year. The 54-year-old man even accused the star of plagiarism and claimed that she is using his own material in her songs, as told by Reuters.

The letters repeatedly called the singer a 'b****' and threatened that he would break in her property, as claimed by the Daily Mail. Rihanna reportedly got scared for her safety after reading such notes and contacted the police. The man was traced down through his benefit cards and CCTV footage feeds.

McGlynn was sent to seek psychiatric treatment in September when he was found unfit to even withstand the trial on stalking charges levied against him. He was committed in a hospital in Staten Island and had recently filed a petition for his release from the court-ordered confinement.

In the court decision, Judge Orlando Marrazzo expressed serious concerns about the threat imposed by the man in question. He felt that the stalker is quite dangerous and can be considered a 'ticking time bomb', who can inflict serious physical harm or even death to the star and anyone around her.

McGlynn is ordered to stay away from the 26-year-old star. Moreover, the police have been ordered to arrest him immediately if he attempts to go near the singer's home. The stalker has also been barred from contacting the musician through email, phone or any other platform.

The judge was so concerned about the safety of the seven-time Grammy award winning singer that he even compared McGlynn with Mark David Chapman--the American prison inmate who is serving his sentence for murdering John Lennon outside his apartment by firing five close shots at the music legend.
