In her recent interview with US Elle magazine, Rihanna opens up about her reconnected ties with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The 24-year-old reportedly refused to follow the advice of her management team to cut ties with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, at least for a record that is. Most recently in her interview with US Elle magazine for its May edition, the singer opened up about her renewed connection with Chris Brown.

Her interview was patterned against speculations that the two might have rekindled their romance. Although she confirms that she is single and happy to be one, Rihanna said that people will always have a negative reaction and that she will do what she wants.

"I respect what other people have to say. The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently," the Barbadian singer said.

"It's very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that's all right. I don't hate them for it."

"I'm still going to do what I want to do," together with the interview and her raunchy photos for Elle, she defiantly added.

After her assault which happened in 2009, she admitted that it was the hardest part of her life.

"I was angry, sad, confused, torn. I was still in love. And I needed to talk about it," she confessed. She also added that she used the recording of her 2009 album "Rated R" for her therapy.

A source tells New York Post that Rihanna is rebelling because she feels she works "too hard' and needs some time for herself. Apparently her management fears that she will secretly record an album with Brown just to defy them.

"Her management banned her from reuniting with Chris, but she said she'll do whatever the hell she wants to," the source said,
