The release date of the Apple MacBook 2015 with Retina display has been reportedly set for April 10. However, now, a new report states that the Retina MacBook 2015 has apparently made a visit to the 64-bit Geekbench benchmark site. This visit seemingly shows how exactly the upcoming Apple device fares when compared to other prominent Apple notebooks.

The entry-level Retina MacBook 2015 reportedly comes powered by an Intel Core M-5Y31 processor clocked at 1.1 GHz. And apparently, in the Geekbench site, this notebook has appeared two times and the scores pertaining to the two single-core testing are 1924 and 2044. On the other hand, the multi-core testing scores are 4038 and 4475. In comparison, the 2015 entry-level MacBook Air is reportedly powered by an Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. And the score of MackBook Air under single-core and multi-core testing comes down to 2881 and 5757, respectively. This means, the MackBook Air is relatively faster than the MacBook 2015, notes MacRumors.

Speaking about notebook performance, the Retina MacBook 2015 processor is on par with the high-end MacBook Air from 2011 powered by an Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. However, with respect to graphics performance, the new MacBook 2015 is believed to be better than the 2011 MackBook Air. It is worth noting that the new MackBook 2015 features an Intel HD 5300 graphics card and an improved SSD on board. And therefore, the Retina MacBook 2015 will surpass the 2011 MacBook Air, despite the fact that the processor speeds are quite similar, notes the same site.

In addition to the entry-level 1.1 GHz Intel processor, the new Retina MackBook 2015 apparently comes with two additional choices namely a 1.2 GHz processor for the high-end version and a 1.3 GHz processor as an optional made-to-order upgrade. In any case, the aforesaid choices in processor would perform better when compared to the entry-level 1.1 GHz Intel processor, concludes MacRumors.

As far as the Retina MacBook 2015 price is concerned, the notebook will reportedly set the buyers back by $1,299 for the 1.1 GHz model with 256 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the 1.2 GHz version with 512 GB storage can be availed for $1,599.
