Reese Witherspoon Arrested, Other Hollywood Celebrities Who Got Jailed [PHOTOS]

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct after her rage towards a police officer that stopped her husband while driving with suspicion on DUI.

The 37-year-old Hollywood actress reportedly quarreled with a police officer after she and her husband got pulled over on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia. According to reports, she mockingly asked the police officer if he knew who she was.

"Do you know who I am? You're about to find out who I am. You are going to be on national news," Witherspoon reportedly told the officer.

The officer dealt with Reese's husband who was driving in an out of lanes. While dealing with the arrest, cops say that Reese started to demonstrate "visual and verbal" frustrations on why the process was taking too long. During one point, she got out of the car and the officer requested her to get back in. For the second time she got out, Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The two were both taken to jail, booked and later on released after a short time. The officer stated that Roth's eyelids were droopy and his eyes were watery. When asked if he was drunk, Reese's husband said that he only had one drink, but his blood alcohol level turned out 139 in the Breathanalyzer.

But after finally coming into sense and perhaps realizing what she had done, Reese Witherspoon issued a public apology and admitted that she was deeply embarrassed.

"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that was no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I am very sorry for my behavior," Reese said in her statement on Sunday.

It's normal for such Hollywood celebrities to make headlines just like Reese's, from Lindsay Lohan to "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr., these celebs got arrested for various misconduct. But the hard thing about being on the spotlight is no matter how little or big the offense is, the public will be watching. Good for some who managed to bounce back swiftly and sad for those who are still struggling to escape from the loop.

Reese and Jim are due back in court on May 22 and May 23 respectively. The actress was currently in town filming a movie titled "The Good Lie."
