It looks like the whole world wanted to know what Rebecca Black's plans are for Friday night. The Internet sensation managed to top Google's Zeitgeist list beating out Google's own social network site, Google Plus in the global rankings.

Google's Zeitgeist is a list that Google puts out to look at the most popular search terms of the year. Rebecca Black, whose infamous song Friday was one of the most disliked videos on YouTube, was the fastest rising search term globally this year. Google Plus was ranked second followed by Ryann Dunn, the star of the "Jackass" movies who died earlier this year in a car crash. Casey Anthony who was acquitted of her daughter's murder was at number four while the best-selling game Battlefield 3 was at number five. Apple-related news had three slots in the top ten, iPhone 5 was at number 6, Steve Jobs was at number 9 and the iPad 2 was at number 10. Rounding out the top ten was the singer Adele at number 7 and news about the Fukushima Daichi power plant at number 8.

Australians were more interested in the rumored iPhone 5 which topped both Australia's fastest rising search terms and fastest rising news searches of 2011. Rebecca Black was still made the list of fastest rising search terms but Aussies only ranked the teen at number ten. Other terms in the top ten were Minecraft at number two, cyclone Yasi at number three, planking at number four, Adele at number five, angry boys at number six, the royal wedding at number seven, rugby world cup at number eight and the iPhone 4S at number nine. Australians were hungry for red velvet cupcakes which topped the list for fastest rising food searches. Adele reigned supreme at fastest rising people search terms for the year beating out Rebecca Black in second place and Amy Winehouse in third place.
