Real Madrid FC are having a season to remember. The all-conquering side in Spain and Europe have continued with their juggernaut in Morocco by winning the semi-final of the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup in style. In the final they will play the winners of the other semi-final match between Auckland City FC and San Lorenzo de Almargo. The final match is on Dec. 20th.

Real Madrid FC have just recorded their 21st back to back win when they defeated the winner of the 2013-14 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, Cruz Azul by four goals yesterday. Defender Sergio Ramos opened the scoring in the 15th minute for the Spanish Champions. French international Karim Benzema made it two nil on the 36th minute. Real Madrid FC kept on pressing their opponents even after the break and Gareth Bale reaped the rewards when he scored the third for his side on the 50th minute. Young midfielder Isco added a fourth on the 72nd minute to make the win even more comprehensive.

With all due respect to Auckland City FC their opponent for the semi-finals San Lorenzo de Almargo of Argentina are a much more pedigreed club. They are the winners of the 2014 Copa Libertadores. They were also crowned champions in the 2013-14 edition of the Argentine Primera Division. In all probability they will face Real Madrid FC for the final on Saturday.

In the last five editions of the FIFA Club World Cup four times the winner has come from Europe. Fellow La Liga club FC Barcelona were winners in two of those occasions and Italian Champions Internazionale won it another time. The current champions are Bayern Munich of Germany. Sports Club Corinthians Paulista of Brazil beat Chelsea FC in 2012 and are the only South American club to have won it in the last five years. Real Madrid FC should win this match and establish that they are currently the best club football side in the world.
