In today's Premier League news round-up Real Madrid have beaten Manchester United to sign one of Europe's most promising youngster Martin Odegaard. Manager-less Newcastle are looking to appoint Ajax manager Frank De Boer as their next permanent manager and finally the Premier League is all set to start a week earlier from the next season to lessen the fixture congestion during the Christmas period.

16 year old Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard, one of the highly sought after talents in Europe is all set to commit himself to Real Madrid. The midfielder flew to Madrid in a private jet and was seen watching the Copa del Rey match between Atletico and Real Madrid from the VIP box. Last month he was in Manchester. He was given a tour of Old Trafford and was pitched the idea of joining the Red Devils. The Los Blancos seems to have had the last laugh.

Newcastle United are all set to play under caretaker manager John Craver till the end of the season. The owner Mike Ashley is in no hurry to appoint a long time successor. In a shock development current Ajax Amsterdam manager Frank De Boer has become the frontrunner for the job. De Boer is highly rated by the present Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal. He has recommended De Boer for jobs at Liverpool and Tottenham in the past. De Boer has also made it clear that he wishes to manage a team at the Premier League. De Boer is presently in his fifth season as Ajax manager. He has won the Dutch league in the last four seasons with them.

In another development that will please all the managers and players in the Premier League is that the league will start a week earlier from next season on Aug. 8th. This will provide all the teams enough recovery time in between matches during the festive period next season.
