Showtime's "Ray Donovan" starring Liev Schreiber as Raymond "Ray" Donovan aired the episode titled "The Captain" (Season 2, episode 12) on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014. It was mostly about Ray and his family, but it focused on Mickey's (Jon Voight) new plan after his failed attempt at robbing a pot store, which caused Terry (Eddie Marsan) to get arrested. And, it also featured Abby (Paula Malcomson) who had a tough choice to make. Read on for the "Ray Donovan" Season 2 Finale recap of episode 12 "The Captain" to find out what happened to Ray and company.

Here's what happened in the "Ray Donovan" Season 2 Finale, episode 12 "The Captain." Mickey found out, along with Daryll (Pooch Hall) that the money they were expecting to get was much lesser than they originally thought. It turns out that the safe only has $20,000. That's why Mickey planned on going to the races to get more money. He won $1 million in the racetracks after betting on a horse named "The Captain."

Meanwhile, Abby found it difficult to choose between Jim (Brian Geraghty) and Ray, who both offered her and Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) protection from Cookie (Omar Dorsey).

As for Ray, he had other problems to deal with. As soon as he got out of jail, he found out that Cookie called him multiple times on his phone. Plus, Terry has been arraigned, but he doesn't want to accept Ray's help to bail him out because he felt that he deserved to go to prison for hitting someone for money.

Ray also learned that Cookie has seen the video which shows Marvin and Re-Kon getting killed, including Bridget getting out of the car after Cookie committed the heinous crime. Ray asked Lena (Katherine Moennig) to check on his family because Avi (Steven Bauer) was nowhere to be found.

Detective Jim Halloran (Brian Geraghty) also visited Abby, Bridget and Connor (Devon Bagby) at their home.

And, Kate McPherson (Vinessa Shaw) was shot and killed by Avi in her Boston home. When Ray found out about it from Lena, he immediately plotted his revenge. He thought it was Cochran (Hank Azaria) who was behind the murder, but he found out eventually that it was Ezra (Elliott Gould) who ordered Avi to kill Kate.

Plus, Cookie wanted to get back his $1 million so Ray brought it over to his home. Unfortunately, that wasn't a guarantee that Bridget will be safe, so Ray ended up shooting and killing Cookie.

Towards the end of "The Captain," it was shown that Ashley's (Ambyr Childers) stalker Bob Lepecka (Collin Christopher), also died in this episode.
