Rajon Rondo Out 6-8 Weeks; Boston Celtics Alleged Cover Up Of Cause Of Injury
The 2014-2015 NBA season has not started yet but Rajon Rondo has already suffered an injury that will put him out of commission for the next six to eight weeks— just around the time the season starts. The Boston Celtics star point guard was reportedly injured after a fall at home that caused him to break a left finger.
An official press release stated that the timetable of recovery is up to two months.
“The Boston Celtics announced today that guard Rajon Rondo underwent successful surgical fixation of a left metacarpal fracture this morning at New England Baptist Hospital. The injury was a result of a fall at his home last night. The surgery was performed by Dr. Hervey Kimball and Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon. Estimated timetable for return is six to eight weeks,” according to the report.
According to a ESPN, the injury was caused when Rondo slipped in the shower at home.
However, there are alleged reports that Rondo’s injury wasn’t caused at home nor in the shower but when he was at the Altitude Trampoline Park. According to a few posts on Twitter and this link Rondo was seen at the trampoline park during the time of the incident and the possibility that the Celtics could be covering up the injury could be true.
Rondo’s camp nor the Celtics have not confirmed the reports on the supposed presence of Rondo at the trampoline park.
Danny Ainge, president of the Celtics, Brad Stevens, head coach of the team and Rondo will address the questions on the injury when they appear in the Celtics Media Day on Sept. 29.
Rondo averaged 11.7 points and 9.8 rebounds in the 2013-2014 NBA season but has only played in 68 out of the 164 games in the last two seasons.
