Rafael Nadal has doubts about winning another Grand Slam in his illustrious tennis career that saw him bag 14 Grand Slam trophies. Nadal, ranked as world No. 7, believes he is approaching 100 percent fitness after being finally free of persistent injuries, but the 29-year-old Spainard admitted he also had to overcome mental scars to return into his best form.

Nadal has struggled to rediscover his competitive side while enduring a year without any major victory. While the Spanish international is convinced that he is nearing full health, Nadal confessed there is uncertainty of adding another major title to his collection of victories.

“I don't know if I can win another Grand Slam," Nadal told Sky Sports . "I don't know if I'm going to do it... but I can do it.”

According to Chris Chase of USA Today’s For The Win , Nadal could still pile up another Grand Slam victory, but only if the Spaniard regains his confidence in playing the best tennis of his career. “For Nadal, belief is more important than it is to most athletes,” Chase wrote. “If Nadal can’t regain some confidence at either the Australian Open or in the European clay-court season he used to dominate, another Slam may not be in the cards.”

Nadal has failed to make it past into the quarterfinals in any Grand Slam tournament this season. The most recent loss Nadal had was a bad meltdown in this year’s Grand Slam finale at the US Open when he blew a two-set lead in the third round to lose against Italy’s Fabio Fognini 3-6 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-34.

Nadal is currently in Bangkok with world No. 1 Novak Djokovic for a sold-out exhibition match dubbed as “Back to Thailand.” The event was organized by local authorities in Thailand to boost confidence of the country’s safety after a deadly bombing in August that left 20 dead in the heart of the capital.
