Rafael Nadal of Spain struggled with the 2015 season in the ATP Tour but is adamant that he is not yet done with the sport, saying he has no plans of retiring anytime soon. Nadal admitted that he was mentally and emotionally struggling for much of the year but is satisfied with his performance and improving health overall.

“This year, for the first time in my career I wasn't able to control my mind and my emotions on court. Among all the negative things, it's important to note I'm healthy, so this season it wasn't a disaster at all,” Nadal shared to Tennis World.

Nadal went on to say that retirement is far from his mind and added that he “never felt tired” during the season, emphasising that his struggles were more on the mental side and that he “suffered from anxiety.” Meanwhile, Nadal also touched on some personal matters in the same interview.

"Mary [Francisca Perello] agrees in not getting married before my career's over. There is time and moments for everything and that's how we both see things. I would love to have a family but I do also want to fully enjoy it,” Nadal added.

Perello is Nadal’s long-time girlfriend, and the pair has been together since 2005.

In a separate interview, Nadal promised that he’s still motivated to continue his career.

“I’ve improved most mentally this season. I have the motivation to keep going and what motivates me is to find a way to play at the highest level possible and to put myself in a position to fight for the things I want to fight for,” Nadal said via ATPWorldTour.com. “My goal is to enjoy tennis and compete in all the tournaments and be happy with what I am doing.”

Nadal, who is currently ranked No. 7 in the latest ATP rankings, will be playing at the 2015 Swiss Indoors Basel this week.
