Rafael Nadal has confirmed his early commitment in Buenos Aires in February. It will be the first time in nine years that Nadal will take part in the 2015 Argentina Open.

According to a report from ATP's official Web site, Nadal leads the lineup for the said 250 clay-court event. Tickets for the tournament have reported gone on sale starting on Dec. 12.

Nadal said that he is very excited to play in the tournament. The current World No. 3 said that he loves playing in the Latin America because he feels at home. Nadal is a native of Mallorca, which is a tourism portal of the Balearic Islands in Spain.

"After having to pull out at the last minute this season due to stomach problems, I've very excited to go back in 2015," Nadal said. "I hope I can play my best tennis there and see all the Argentine fans, who love our sport so much."

Nadal will be joined by Argentine Leonardo Mayer, who is slated to make his fifth main draw appearance in the said tournament. The 28th-ranked Argentine said that it is a privilege to have Nadal play in Argentina, where Nadal's fellow compatriot David Ferrer is a three-time defending champion.

The 2015 Argentine Open, or also known as Abierto de Buenos Aires, is played on outdoor clay courts at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. It holds men's singles and men's doubles events. Other past champions include Nicolas Almagro, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Tommy Robredo, David Nalbandian, Juan Monaco, and former World number one Carlos Moya.

After undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy in November, Nadal has gone back to training. He delighted his fans and followers on social media by sharing a picture of him during a practice session on Dec. 1.

Nadal will first compete in the 2015 Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi from Jan. 1 to Jan. 3, 2015. He leads the lineup for the Abu Dhabi event alongside Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. He also hopes to be in 100 percent healthy and fully fit in time of the first Grand Slam of the year for the 2015 Australian Open in Melbourne.
