The new facility is 30 percent bigger than the previous facility with a number of dining features including The Cantina. The Mexican-inspired menu serves freshly made empanadas, quesadillas, sweetcorn and soft corn tacos.

The lounge features a full bar serving premium Australian wines, craft beer and cocktails while a wine bar opens from midday. An all-day barista Vittoria coffee, a fresh hot and cold buffet and a communal coffee bar are available. Customers travelling in Business, Platinum and Platinum One Frequent Flyers are eligible for the Domestic Business Lounge. The lounge is also open to eligible oneworld Emerald members and Emirates and China Eastern Platinum customers.

The Premium Lounge Entry offers an exclusive check-in area to top tier Frequent Flyers. It also offers an exclusive bag drop and security screening. The eligible passengers have a direct access the new Lounge Precinct.

Gray said that Premium Lounge Entry is Qantas' first that streamlines the departure process. It aims the top tier Frequent Flyers to maximise their time in the lounge and to move through the terminal quickly.

Woods Bagot designed the space using local materials. Moreton Bay at twilight inspired colour palette was used in the lounge complemented with natural lights. Gilimbaa artist Jenna Lee created the contemporary light and glass artwork called "Rhythm of Our Stories" artwork. It will be installed to represent the teaching, learning and sharing of culture between generations. The lounge space offers seating for more than 350 people. The revamped valet facility offers direct terminal access. From the valet, the eligible customers will be able to access directly the Premium Lounge Entry.
