Putin does a Denzel Washington, vows to send terrorists to God
Here is one more reason why Russian President Vladimir Putin is the Denzel Washington of world politics.
While world leaders are proposing coming together to fight against terrorism all over the world, one man does not bother having discussions. He apparently prefers terrorising the terrorists.
“To forgive the terrorists is up to god, to send them to him is up to me,” Putin said.
“We are going to pursue terrorists everywhere. If they are in the airport, we will pursue them in the airport,” Putin told Russian media. “And if we capture them in the toilet, then we will waste them in the outhouse. The issue has been resolved once and for all.”
You don’t often hear politicians, especially heads of states, talking in such manner. However, one may wonder if Putin really said those words.
The quote seems to be a take-off from the 2004 movie “Man of Fire” is spoken by Joyhn W. Creasy, portrayed by Denzel Washington. Russia Today news anchor Remi Maalouf shares the quote on her verified Twitter account with Putin’s image with four hashtags #ISIS #Syria #Moscow and #Putin.

However, Maalouf does not use it as a direct quote from the Russian president. There are possibilities that she used the quote to demonstrate Putin’s attitude towards terrorists. She clearly says on her profile that she is “not going to censor” herself to comfort people’s ignorance. She also says her tweets represent her (#Me).
The most interesting part is that such quotes from Putin become credible because of his personality. Not every head of state in the world has driven race cars, darted whales and flown firefighting planes.
According to The Guardian, Putin participated in an arm-wrestling contest at a summer camp run by the Nashi youth group at Lake Seliger in Russia's Tver region, attached a satellite transmitter to a tiger during a visit to the Ussuriysky forest reserve and drove a Harley-Davidson Lehman trike after a meeting in 2010 with motorcyclists at a camp near Sevastopol in the Crimea peninsula.
Update: Maalouf's tweet tricked a Fox News anchor who said she loved Putin for saying such things. However, the RT anchor later confirmed on Twitter that the quote was fake.
