With October finally here, PS Plus subscribers can once again look forward to a couple of free games, courtesy of the PS Plus October lineup. Sony has finally announced the titles, but surprisingly, the company did not seem to take advantage of the Halloween month to roll out horror games.

Spearheading the lineup on the PS4 are platform puzzler title “Super Meat Boy,” the adventure game “Broken Age” and puzzle adventure “Unmechanical: Extended.” The first two games are also available on the PS Vita, while the third title is also free on the PS3.

The other titles coming included in the lineup are Chariot on the PS3, “Kickbeat” (PS3 and PS Vita” and “Kung Fu Rabbit” (PS3 and PS Vita). Sony has also reminded PS Plus subscribers that “Driveclub” PS Plus Edition will only be available until Oct. 6, so it’s best to download the game before it leaves the free games collection.

Even with the announcement of the new PS Plus free lineup, not everyone is happy about the selection for the month. Over at the PlayStation Blog comments section, fans have been voicing out their disappointment. Some have commented that the PS Vita is receiving the worst end of the deal for not having had AAA games for a while. Others pointed out that the PS Plus free games collection may be taking the backseat to another PlayStation service.

“I can see why so many subscribers are not happy. Now that the PS4 requires Plus for online gameplay, Sony just slacks off with the terrible game choices,” said one forums member over at the PlayStation Blog.

This is not the only woe that is currently plaguing PlayStation players. The newly released PS4 update 3.00 has rolled out a few features designed to enhance socializing with friends and other players, it has also come with a couple of issues. PlayStation Lifestyle has warned players to avoid creating a Favourite Group. While this appears to be a good social feature, the report stated that anyone who is part of the Favourite Group will be spammed with messages. In addition, the feature also makes Favourite Groups public, so the label and members of the group can be seen by anyone.

Another issue, this time spotted by Gamingbolt, is the removal of the USB music player. This is a surprising move, considering that the feature was added during the last major update, the PS4 2.00 system update. Sony has not yet given any statement regarding this removal.
