Sony has finally confirmed that the PS4 firmware update 1.60 will be coming in Feb 4 and will be bringing with it compatibility support for the PULSE Wireless Stereo Headset.

Aside from this, PlayStation Blog Europe has also announced that the compatibility of the headset will also include the original Wireless Stereo Headset. "This means that you will now be able to use these wireless headsets on your PS4 and can experience 7.1 virtual surround sound and voice chat while playing your PS4 games," said James Olivier, brand and hardware marketing for SCEE.

A Headset Companion App will also be available for those who want to experience new game modes. "Infamous: Second Son" will be the first game with this kind of setting. Apparently, these new sound mode will enhance the audio for a number of PS4 games.

GameSpot adds another wireless headset that's compatible for the PS4, PS3 and PC while also having 8 hours of use via adaptor. According to the report, the Gold Wireless Headset will be sold at around $100 and offer features including 7.1 surround sound, noise cancelling and audio modes, to name a few.

Lastly, Chris Owen, community manager for PlayStation Europe, has also tweeted a few more details about the PS4 firmware update 1.60, "#PS4 firmware update tomorrow (v1.60) bringing Pulse Headset support, general stability improvements and ability to mute camera."

The last part is one of the highlights, considering that those who have the PlayStation Eye Camera need to unplug it.

New IPs Coming In?

There have been a number of previously reported games that were coming to the PS4, both officially announced and those that should be treated as rumours. These include "Tropico 5," another project from Sucker Punch and the rumoured "Sonic" title in 2015.

This time, insider Ahsan Rasheed, a.k.a. Thuway, has tipped the public about the upcoming progress in PS4 games.

"I've been told there has never been a better time to be a dev at Sony. The power, the tech, the funds--it's all there," said Thuway, as quoted by DualShockers. "And you'll see a healthy dose of new I.P., as studios transition from older marquees to new properties," he added.

This may be seen in the shift that Sucker Punch is starting to do after the development of "Infamous: Second Son," since they are already looking for new talent for a possible new title.

Another game that was hinted to come to the PS4 is "Ultra Street Fighter." According to Event Hubs, Yoshinori Ono, a rep from Capcom, has tweeted a picture of a Blanka figurine with a PS4 DualShock 4 controller. According to the report, this may be a nod to the new "Street Fighter" title that's being ported to the PS4.

PS4 VR Headset Updates

Sony's PS4 VR headset has received another round of buzz after Hideo Kojima of the "Metal Gear Solid" series has tweeted a photo of a voice actor of the franchise playing with Sony's VR headset while enjoying the game.

It seems that there will be support for the PS4's VR headset, though details are still scarce. This goes to show how far Sony has gone in creating its VR headset. Road to VR even reports that the VR headset may even have a better resolution compared to the Rift DK1, with a head-tracking system that has yet to be detailed for the public.

Perhaps what's also notable is the fact that, when compared to Valve's VR headset, there is a pretty good chance that it can offer a similar experience, as the two devices are at par with each other. This goes both in terms resolution and the kind of technology used in head tracking.
