While most PS4 fans have been avidly waiting for the PS4 2.0 firmware update, there have been a couple of issues and problems now being reported. Following the release of the update, a couple of fans have started to see some issues concerning a few of the new features that came with the update.

The biggest so far is the rather grievous bug that can cause some of your files to be erased via the PS4 2.0 firmware update's Share Play. Gamereactor has tested out the extent of the capabilities of having someone take over your controller, and some of the results were not pleasant.

The report states that you can easily delete some files off of your friends' PS4. It does not extend to giving your friend access to the console menus, but there is still some damage in some files if you manage to do Share Play with a friend who may actually be a frenemy. Best to avoid sharing with friends who you don't trust in the meantime, while Sony finds a fix for this issue.

Rest Mode Issue Prevents Turning On The PS4

One of the more prolific issues involves the Rest Mode, as more PS4 players are starting to see a problem in turning on their consoles. VG 24/7 has spotted a new thread where PS4 are pooling in their problems, the most common of which is that they cannot restart their PS4 once it goes on Rest Mode.

The current fix that users have found to remedy the issue is to just force reset on the PS4 manually. Of course, this has repercussions, as doing this can result in damaged files and even a damaged PS4. The report even states that the best thing to do would be to leave the device off until Sony has already dealt with the problem.

The good thing is that Sony has already acknowledged the issue. According to Gamepur, the company has even given a temporary remedy, which is to restart the PS4 in Safe Mode and then rebuild the database. Some PS4 players who have tried this have attested to the success of the workaround, for the meantime.

But's even better is that the source has also mentioned a potential permanent solution, which is to just change the Supply Power to USB Ports option to one that is "Always from Setting Menu." Gamepur even provide a step-by-step instruction on how to do it, as seen below:

Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Functions Available in Rest Mode > Supply Power to USB Port > Always

Instead of manually forcing your PS4 to reset, this is a better solution for now. At least until Sony gives a more expansive solution by way of a fix.

Difficulties with 'Evolve' Big Alpha Test

The PS4 2.0 Firmware update did not just botch a few players' experience with the console, but also a game. 2K's "Evolve" has just recently announced that the latest update has affected the release of the alpha test of the title.

"Following the recent PS4 2.00 firmware update, we are experiencing difficulties with the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. As a result, the test on PlayStation 4 is postponed," said the developer over at their official blog.

For those who will be playing on the Xbox One and PC, the alpha test continues. The only workaround that the developer has provided so far is for PS4 players with either a PC or Xbox One to sign up for the alpha test using the other platforms. This can mean that there is a pretty big issue with the PS4 2.0 firmware update for this to even be the only remedy of the developer so far. As usual, fans will be updated with any latest fixes.
