“Prison Break” Season 5 is expected to return to the small screen, but there is little news as to when. According to reports, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are having a tough time with their schedules as their current show, CW's superhero ensemble "DC's Legends of Tomorrow,” a 16-episode run, is causing scheduling nightmares.

[Spoiler Alert] Now, “Prison Break” fans may have their hearts stopped as “Royal Pains” leading man Mark Feuerstein has been roped in for a major recurring role, as Sara Tancredi’s (Sarah Wayne Callies) husband, reports TVLine.

While Wentworth Miller may reprise his role as Michael Scofield and so will Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, the change in storyline may result in heartbreak unless and until Sara quickly finds out Scofield is alive.

It has been confirmed that Feuerstein will be playing Scott Ness, the husband of Dr. Sara Tancredi. Sara has moved on and is now settled with Ness. While Callies is in talks for a comeback as Sara, other fan favourites such as Amaury Nolasco, Rockmond Dunbar and Robert Knepper haven’t been confirmed. Unfortunately, even Callies is not sure if she would be able to reprise her role.

“The story unravels on an international landscape — it’s not a domestic [plot]. We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story,” said Fox co-chairman and CEO Dana Walden.

“Prison Break” fans last saw Scofield dead in the straight-to-DVD film “The Final Break.” Last month in January, 43-year-old Miller talked about his role in “Prison Break” revival. He shared some of his conversations with series creator Paul Scheuring.

“I would like to believe we can honor the story that's been told and not do a dream sequence kind of thing because I think the audience would not appreciate that sort of thing [sic],” said Miller.

However, he also stated that the conversation with Scheuring occurred months earlier. Thus, he is not aware of any changes being made. Of course, Miller is excited to see how “Prison Break” Season 5 incorporates events from the movie that killed his character.

No official announcement has been made regarding the release date of "Prison Break" Season 5.
