Priscilla Chan married Mark Zuckerberg who is worth $17.5 billion. However, the couple opted for a simple wedding, not to mention a modestly priced wedding gown. But who is the designer behind the current raved about wedding dress worn by the new Mrs. Mark Zuckerberg?

The 27-year-old Facebook founder's wife wore a simple but elegant white lace gown made by Los Angeles based designer Claire Pettibone. The couple tied the knot last Saturday in a private ceremony held at Zuckerberg's home in Palo Alto, California.

But having a husband who ranks at number 35 in Forbes' World's Billionaire, somebody would expect that Chan would be wearing a high-end designer wedding gown. But being private and low-key as they always were, they preferred something more reasonable.

Priscilla Chan's $4,700 wedding gown can be seen under Claire Pettibone's website. Its name is "Sky Between The Branches" and was made with matte sequins and ivory cut embroidery with a sheer back.

According to the Washington Post, her bridal collection is "proof positive that bridal fashion is keeping up with the runway." She opened a boutique in Beverly Hills and has begun informally designing red carpet gowns for celebrity clients like Cameron Diaz, Elisabeth Moss and Cuortney Cox Arquette.

In a statement she gave out on Buzzfeed, Pettibone said that she was unaware that Priscilla Chan had intentions on wearing her wedding gown design.

"I kind of found out about it the same way everyone else did. We had gone to Disneyland for my daughter's fifth birthday, so we came home and my husband checked the news and he saw that Mark got married, and he looked at the story and said, 'Honey, honey this is your dress,'" she said.
