The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton have touched the lives of the members of the community and the families of the victims of the devastating street violence as they made a surprise visit to riot-affected areas in Birmingham, London on Friday, Aug. 19.

The Royal couple visited the ravaged communities in Birmingham and expressed their support for the residents who lost family members in the devastating violence that escalated on the first week of August.

They had a first look of the different faces of pain of the members of the communities who not only lost their loved ones but also witnessed their possessions robbed and ravaged by the senseless violence that made Britain the city of burns for five long, traumatic days.

They first stopped at the Summerfield Community Centre found at the heart of the Winson Green area, where they met the representatives of mourning families of the three locals who were run-over by a car when they were seen as protecting their shops from any more looting and violence.

A separate article by IBTimes AU reported that the same community members pay tribute to the death of Haroon Jahan (21) and brothers Shazad Ali (30 ) and Abdul Musavir (31) who were the three fatalities in the riot-torn London.

Prince William and Kate Middleton had 15 minutes to talk to the members of the family and offered their sympathy and support and expressed their admiration to the strength the family members have shown despite their loss.

The meeting, said police authorities from West Midlands had a “somber atmosphere”.

"They were very concerned about what the families had gone through and how they were coping with such a tragedy," Insp. Cate Webb-Jones of West Midlands Police was quoted as saying by People magazine.

Prince William and Kate were described as “showing a lot of respect” and they offered sympathies to the grieving families. The couple also met Tariq, the father of the 21-year-old Haroon who still had the courage to stand on the street and begged the locals not to revenge for the death of his and two others, killed protecting the community shops and establishments.

After meeting the families of the victims of the devastating riots in early August, Prince William and Kate Middleton walked outside and around the Summerfield Community Centre to meet the well-wishers.

The brief walk gave the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a chance to meet more members of the community who helped deal with the onslaught of the violence on the street.
