In a talk with breast cancer patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, Prince William shared that he and his wife Kate Middleton are now looking at the school options for Prince George. The school year is about to end, but the Royal couple are already on the lookout for George’s next educational home.

Kathryn England, one of the patients, asked the Prince how his children were. He said that their household is currently noisy, but lovely.

“We're just trying to sort out schools now. It's quite a challenge,” Express quotes the Prince as saying.

Prince George is only turning three in July 22. This makes him the youngest among his classmates for the coming school year. Hence, he would be starting school after his birthday in 2017, People Magazine reports.

At the moment, George is enrolled in nursery school at Westcare Montessori in East Walton. His present school is near the Royal’s country home at Norfolk. It is not yet sure if the Prince and Duchess of Cambridge will send their kids for school in London or Norfolk. Observers are guessing it may be preferable for them to be based at Anmer Hall in Norfolk for as long as they could, because the Prince and the Queen are still commissioning royal engagements.

The tradition of sending children to fee-paying independent secondary schools is likely to continue with William and Kate’s children. There are is a possibility that Charlotte and George would be sent to a village state primary school for the moment, but eventually be sent out to a prep school.

It is not only the quality of education that the Royal couple considers in choosing a school. For instance, Gresham Prep School in Norfolk has already been taken out of the choices for security purposes. It is said that the school is too exposed.

One of the popular school choices is Beeston Hall at Cromer. It is said to open a new pre-prep school this September. For non-boarders, fees are reportedly £5,480 per term. However, it is anticipated that William and Kate do not want George and Charlotte to become fulltime boarders when they turn eight. This is in contrast to Prince William’s and Prince Harry’s experience, when they were sent off to boarding school at that age.

There are lots of potential school choices in London. However, Kensington Palace officials already denied the news that George would be enrolling to Wetherby, which costs about £6,540 per term. This is the same school that William and Prince Harry attended.
