After Prince Harry's much-talked about (not to mention terribly embarrassing) nude scandal on his last visit in the U.S., New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said he will make sure the party-happy prince will keep his pants on during the entire trip.

Just recently, a listener asked Christie on a radio call-in show if there are any plans to make sure that the third in line to the British throne behaves during his trip to the Garden State this May.

The governor, famed for his broad girth and blunt style of politics, responded that he would keep 'a firm grip' on him while he is in New Jersey, assuring his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, that she could trust him with his grandson.

"If you trust me, all will be fine during his entire trip, I will be with Prince Harry," Christie told the local radio show.

On his last U.S. trip, it can be recalled that Prince Harry was caught frolicking nude with a woman in Las Vegas in what resembled as a game of strip billiards, and photos of him spread like wildfire online and in newspapers around the world.

The royal family was reportedly embarrassed, but fortunately, news of Kate Middleton's pregnancy took the scandal away from the limelight.

The governor added in his interview that young people all make mistakes, saying, "The prince has said he apologizes for his conduct back then. Lots of young people make mistakes."

He added further, "I certainly don't want to get all over the prince. I'm thrilled that he wants to come and see the destruction himself first hand and he wants to be helpful. And I'm going to be spending the entire day with Prince Harry."'

However, Christie's pledge to chaperone the prince safely through the state--which is known for the wild party scene of the reality television show Jersey Shore--might not entirely set the royal household at ease.

Harry's trip to the United will last an entire week from May 9 to May 15, and it includes stops in Washington D.C., Colorado, New York and Connecticut. While the tour is heavily focused on charity--visiting the victims of Hurrican Sandy and addressing military issues--and Sin City is not in his itinerary, there are also several parties and a polo tournament lined up for the British royal.

We can't really be too sure that Prince Harry's nude Vegas fiasco will not have a repeat, but let's hope he all proves us wrong.
