At an afternoon event in Barbados, Prince Harry met Rihanna on Wednesday during the marking of the country's 50 years of independence. He was at the Toast to the Nation event to honour the occasion. The British prince and pop star were together in the 15-day tour of the Caribbean.

The prince was asked by the Queen to relay her message since she could not attend the said event. It marked the anniversary of the moment which happened on Nov. 30, 1966. It was the day the country broke away from British rule.

"Our countries have a shared history, shared values and an affection which continues to bind us in friendship. On this day of celebration, I send my congratulations to you on your Golden Jubilee of Independence," the Queen said in the ending of her message.

BBC news further revealed that the first words spoken by the prince to the singer were, "Hello, it's very nice to meet you."

Later that night, Prince Harry was introduced as a guest. The crowd cheered him on as he was going up on stage and he flashed them a big smile. Rihanna and Prince Harry were seen sitting next to each other on stage during the concert at the Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown.

"Your independence was a declaration of confidence in the future. And 50 years on Barbados is a country rightfully proud of its vibrant culture, its sporting prowess, and its natural beauty that attracts visitors from all over the world,” said the prince.

The next day, they were seen sharing an adorable hug during the Man Aware occasion. It was an an event that aimed to help raise awareness for HIV and AIDS.

Prince Harry wore his medals and his insignia as a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order. On the other hand, Rihanna wore a blue dress and opted for striking yellow finger nails -- both colours are on the Barbados flag.
