Prince George just turned two years old on July 22. However, his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, revealed during the cancelled America’s Cup World Series on July 25 that her son thinks he is already three years old.

US Weekly reports that Kate Middleton shared this little detail about her son to fellow mother Wendy Maxwell during the cancelled sports event held at the Land Rover Ben Ainslie Racing headquarters in Portsmouth, England. Maxwell, who came with her son Freddie Wilson, told reporters about her conversation with the duchess after Freddie introduced himself to Kate.

“She (Kate) asked him how old he was and he said, 'I'm 3,’” Wendy revealed. When Wendy said he is only 2, Kate explained that George also thinks he’s older than he really is.

Freddie Wilson is the son of Head Coach Rob Wilson, one of the team’s leaders. Kate Middleton also spoke to another 2-year old, George Millis, who came to the event with his 13-week old brother Harry, who had fallen asleep, reports People magazine.

Prince George celebrated his second birthday in a private birthday party held at his parents’ home in Norfolk in Anmer Hall, where children’s excited voices were overheard coming from the garden. Only a few invited guests were present, including Kate Middleton’s parents Carole and Michael. It’s believed Carole took charge of the party supplies while her daughter, the Duchess of Cambridge, planned the celebration with her husband, Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge took a day’s off from his work with East Anglian Air Ambulance to oversee the party with Kate.

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was also personally there to greet the toddler on his second birthday, according to the Express . He reportedly came with the family’s long-time friend, the Lady Penny Brabourne, since Queen Elizabeth II couldn’t make it to the celebration. He was also photographed leaving Anmer Hall with Lady Brabourne after staying at the party for about half an hour.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry was not able to attend the celebration as he is still in Africa. Prince George’s granddad Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles also missed the toddler’s second birthday party to attend to an engagement in the West Country.
