Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may have charmed diplomats and ordinary citizens around the globe but his charisma did not appeal to Great Britain’s three-year-old Prince George, who went to Canada with his parents for a Royal visit.

Prince George, together with baby sister Charlotte, accompanied their parents, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who arrived Saturday in Victoria, British Columbia, for a week-long official trip.

Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregorie welcomed the Royal Family at the airport tarmac. He crouched down to Prince George’s level and offered a high-five but the young royal did not respond to the invitation. Trudeau’s hand switched to a low-five but the toddler rejected the same.

The awkward scene between the young prince and the highly popular Canadian leader painted a different scenario compare to when Prince George shook hands with United States president Barack Obama during his visit to England in April.

The Royal Family are staying at Government House, the Cambridge’s Canadian base of operation until they return to England on Oct. 1. The Royal couple has about 30 public engagements scheduled throughout their trip. Prince William and the Duchess on Sunday flew to Vancouver, where they visited a charity assisting vulnerable mothers overcome addiction and met with migrant families that settled in Canada.

The royal couple also met Canada’s team of Paralympic athletes who competed in the recent Paralympic Games in Brazil.
