Prince Albert II of Monaco, son of Grace Kelly, got engaged with his longterm girlfriend, former South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock. The 52-year-old royal, who earlier went out with Brooke Shields and supermodel Claudia Schiffer, has been dating Wittstock since 2006.

The royal palace's representatives announced the engagement on Wednesday, June 23. No details about the nuptials were given though.

Prince Albert, who is 20 years older than his fiancee, has never been married, but has two children from previous partners. His Oscar-winning mother passed away in 1982.

When asked if Wittstock was pregnant, Palace spokesperson Laetitia Pierrat answered, "Honestly, I don't think so." She also said that if Wittstock were, a formal announcement would probably have been made.
