Everton boss Roberto Martinez was satisfied and at the same time disappointed with how his charges performed against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Toffees were able to find the back of the net thrice and give the Blues something to ponder on, after the latter were managed to concede only a single goal in their first two Premier League games.

"There won't be many teams that score three against Chelsea," said Martinez.

However, the lack of concentration in the first three minutes of the match, wherein they allowed the west Londoners to score twice, was seen as a lapse that has ultimately cost them the game.

"But it's so disappointing that we were too soft with our defending. Every time the ball was in our 18-yard box there was a real sense of fear," he added.

"Now we have conceded 10 goals in three games and that's not like us at all."

"We need to focus and work on things. We have to be in a strong position and have defensive intensity."

"We have to get back to basics and have to start building games with a solid performance which unfortunately in the last three games wasn't the case."

The Merseyside will be looking to bounce back on matchday 4,as they face equally struggling West Bromwich Albion.
