Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak intimated that "belief" was the key to their victory against Liverpool last Sunday (AEST) in the Premier League.

The Eagles found themselves a goal down just two minutes after the match commenced, but were able to recover quickly after 15 minutes, courtesy of a Dwight Gayle equaliser.

The Reds dominated possession, yet they failed to maximise on their opportunities. Joe Ledley and Jedinak himself punished the opposition in the late stretch of the second-half, finishing the game with a 3-1 scoreline.

"I think you could see they are a team low on confidence," said the Australian international.

"I remember watching them of late and last year when they were free-flowing and attacking and not taking backward steps. But we had that belief that we could get a couple of chances against them and it showed. We got a couple of chances and created difficulties for them."

While he somehow attributes the Merseysiders' dip in form to the departure of Luis Suarez, he still believes that the runners-up of the 2013/14 campagin still have a lot more to show.

"People will make their own judgments on [Luis] Suárez," he continued.

"It is a big loss to them? Well, that is evident because he was a fantastic player for them but, saying that, they have brought in players and they are trying to fill that void."

"It may not come straight away and it may take time but there is a lot of quality in that dressing room."
