Ever since the Kensington Palace announced that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant with her second baby, the media went into a tizzy wondering what kind of dresses will she opt to wear now. Just like her first pregnancy, where the Duchess impressed her fans with her impeccable dressing style, Kate's second pregnancy also has put her in the spotlight. However, the Duchess has maintained her signature simple yet grand style during the five months of her pregnancy and has not disappointed. Here is a look at her maternity style.

During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes several changes. All women put on weight and like to dress up keeping the comfort factor in mind. But when a celebrity gets pregnant, her dressing style gets more media attention. If Mila Kunis opted for comfortable jeans and flowing dresses, Kim Kardashian chose to wear floral gowns on the red carpet. However, for the Duchess, style wins over comfort, as she has to appear for various public events where the dress code is mostly formal. The Duchess of Cambridge has not yet remarkably changed her usual dressing style for her pregnancy. The 32-year-old even recycled quite a lot of her favourite dresses on various occasions.

The Duchess suffered from a condition called Hypermesis Gravidum, a severe form of morning sickness during her first trimester. The condition put her out of public eye for almost two months. After her health became better, Kate made her first public appearance in the last week of October wearing a stylish Alexander McQueen coat dress in grey colour. The Duchess looked effortlessly stylish and chic in the outfit. With no hint of baby bump yet, Kate did not experiment with style and her looks and chose to wear similar kind of outfits, consisting of pretty gowns, overcoats and knee length designer dresses she has been wearing earlier.

However, on her recent trip to New York when her baby bump was visible to some extent, the Duchess chose stylish dresses which were suitable for the city's chilly weather. For a fundraiser event at the at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner in New York, Kate chose to wear her Jenny Packham's bluish-green gown that did not hide the baby bump. Various websites ridiculed the Duchess for being "budget conscious" as she wore the same gown for the second time this year. At yet another event, Kate wore a mere USD 99 dress. Read more about it here. Kate is reportedly due with her second baby in April, 2015. Just four more months are left for her to show off her maternity style.
