Kate Middleton was born to a middle class family and she consequently sounds like one, too. That's why it's believed the Duchess of Cambridge had to work hard to sound "posh" or "more royal" since her middle-class accent was supposedly bothering her when around classy people.

According to Inquisitr, Kate Middleton "wasn't always 'posh' by any means." Coming from a middle class British family, she reportedly had to work on her etiquette and accent so she would feel more royal. Even a self-proclaimed Marlborough College friend confirmed the Duchess of Cambridge spoke with a middle class accent "that made her stand out from the other upper crust girls." The friend claims her accent actually made Kate very self-conscious. "She very gradually started to change her accent to a more upper class accent," the friend said, adding that the Duchess eventually sounded "more posh than the posh girls" when she left Marlborough College.

Her 2010 engagement interview is said to be proof that Kate has indeed already changed her accent from sounding middle class to royal. Laura from Princessdianafriend even claims she sounds "more posh than Prince William" with her accent. However, Laura thinks it's "sad" that the Duchess had to change her accent in order to fit in. Whereas Laura thinks that her sister Pippa Middleton doesn't even sound "posh" (watch video below for comparison).

According to the International Business Times, Kate Middleton is not only posh because of her accent. She reportedly also looks posh due to her uncanny ability not to look directly at the camera during public appearances. Photos of the Duchess during royal engagements rarely show her posing for the camera or having a direct eye-to-eye contact with the camera lenses. It's supposedly for this reason that any publication finds it impossible to run a cover of the Duchess of Cambridge with her photo looking anything other than incidental.

Her ability to not look at the camera is said to be a skill requiring great effort, especially with the hundreds of people taking her picture. However, Kate has allegedly already mastered this skill of "focus and concentration" since she has the ability to "look below or above the camera line." Lainey at laineygossip.com claims this ability makes the Duchess look posh instead of looking or posing for the camera, which she claims is considered "low-classy."
