If there's one thing fans learned about Kate Middleton's style, it would be that the Duchess is very practical when it comes to her clothes. The Duchess has been spotted numerous times in different affordable fashion chains, most often, in Topshop and in Zara.

In one fan sighting, the Duchess was spotted shopping for leggings during the early stages of her pregnancy. Aside from her choice of comfort and affordability over high end and structured clothes, Kate also likes to wear loose tops and coats to protect herself (and the baby) from the chilly London weather.

Some dresses the Duchess wears underneath her coats are indeed from Topshop, such as the Contrast Collar Shift dress Kate wore under her beige Goat Redgrave Coat.

During her college days, Catherine was always seen in jersey or silk Zara wrap around dresses. There was a time when the Duchess favored prints over monotones, with a preference for graphic prints and geometric designs.

Another one of the Duchess' retail therapy go-to places is French Connection. Catherine owns a number of items from the brand, and shamelessly wears them in high-end appearances. Whistles is another affordable brand Catherine likes to indulge on, with several sheer dresses and coats from the London fashion chain in her possession.
