A former kick-boxing champion and Czech Republic's top model Katerina Netolicka was found dead on Thursday in her bath at the house she shared with boyfriend Jakub Petruzalek in Litvinoc. She was a cover girl for top fashion brand Prada and beauty product brand L'Oreal. The couple has been living in for five years.

The 26-year-old model was discovered slumped in her bath, while nearby were her two dead dogs. Her brother became worried when Netolicka failed to answer his phone calls, prompting him to go to her flat to check his sister.

Upon breaking the apartment's door, he found his sister and the two pets lifeless.

Petryzalek, a hockey player, is in Russia playing for his team Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

In October, the model whom friends described as depression-prone and has a record of harming herself, won the Czech Championship in kick-boxing. One model who shared a flat with Katerina in New York seven years ago described the model-athlete as having like having bipolar disorder syndrome. "One minute she was very happy, almost ecstatic. Then sometimes she was depressed and used to self-harm," the other model, who requested anonymity, said.

But a friend, Adrian Smrcka, said that Katerina had stopped harming herself and was very happy with Jakub. Smrcka theorized that the model probably suffered from a stroke or a spasm following kickbox training. But the death of her two dogs remain a mystery.

Police spokeswoman Lumila Svetlakova said the cause of the model's death is unknown, but an autopsy would be performed.
