2-Bit (Michael J. Ferguson) will get an expanded role in “Power” season 6. Gangsters tend to rise quickly up the ranks on the show, as the body count keeps increasing in each new episode. Meanwhile, another big character will be joining the TV series.

Ferguson has been promoted to series regular, Deadline reports. The character has been a part of the show since the second season as a small time drug dealer. 2-Bit was seen working with Kanan (50 Cent) and Dre (Rotimi) in the previous season.

With Kanan out of the picture, and with little chance of Dre returning to his old life, the position of a distributor is wide open for anyone who can step in and fill the gap. Tommy (Joseph Sikora) could have emerged as a big player, but he will be embroiled in his own personal things in the next season.

The situation allows for the rise of 2-Bit as a big drugs distributor. The rise of the character could mean the others have a new rival to contend with.

Meanwhile, Cynthia Addai-Robinson has joined as a series regular on the show in season 6. She will be playing a character named Ramona Garrity, who is a series regular. The character has been described as a “beltway insider with some secrets of her own.”

The plot of the next season will revolve around the fate of Lela Loren (Angela Valdes), whose life hangs in the balance and the prosecutors in her own team closing in on her. The show will also explore the consequence on the relationship between James (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy after the events in the finale episode.

Filming for “Power” season 6 is currently ongoing. The show is set to return sometime next year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
