Now that December is a week away, the people in Sony have decided to unveil next month’s free games for PlayStation Plus users. It looks like fans are in for an interesting mix of action and fantasy, as “Gauntlet: Slayer Edition” and the first episode of “King’s Quest” lead the charge for next month’s games.

“Gauntlet” is an action-packed brawler with a top-down perspective and is a remake of the classic arcade game where players team up, explore dungeons and kill anything that moves. “King’s Quest” is also a remake, with an interesting format that has the older king telling his granddaughter about his previous adventures, which the player will then play.

PS4 owners, who also happen to be PS Plus subscribers, will be able to download for free “Gauntlet” and “King’s Quest” next week. They’re not the only ones who get free games this week though, as the PlayStation Blog has revealed two exciting free games for PS3 owners: “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon” and “SSX.”

“Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon” is a standalone expansion that doesn’t need the original game to be played. It uses the gameplay and graphics of the original, but raises the ridiculous levels to 11, as players take on giant dinosaurs with lasers and a cheesy storyline that could be seen in an 80’s action flick.

“SSX” is a snowboarding simulator and a reboot of the older PS2 games. It lets players do amazing tricks on a snowy mountain, similar to the “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” video games, but with a snowboard.

Those with a PS Vita will be able to get “Freedom Wars” and “Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken” for free this month, according to IGN. “Freedom Wars” is a Japanese role-playing game (RPG) set in the future where things have gotten bleak, while “Rocketbirds” is a platformer featuring birds and rockets.

Whatever the platform, it seems like Sony has something for PlayStation fans. These games will all be free next week. In the meantime, PS Plus owners can still download the free games for November including “Mass Effect 2,” “Magicka 2” and the second season of “The Walking Dead” by Telltale Games.
