Ubisoft is really pushing the next-gen technology, this time for its other game installment, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

After the leaks of images and characters that hint at the multiplayer mode, Ubisoft as finally revealed that there will be a multiplayer mode for AC4. However, that's not all the connectivity that you can explore in the game, as even single-player mode can keep you connected with friends.

According to Eurogamer, the modern day section of the game allows you to play as your own character employed by Abstergo Entertainment. Here, you will be tasked to be a research analyst tracking down the life of Edward Kenway.

Your friends can then be your co-workers, so everything that they find out about Kenway can be relayed to you if you wish.

"You [will] feel that there's other people also playing the game and somehow you can interact, or somehow you can take advantage with each other," said Ash Ismael, game director, to Eurogamer.

Ismael stresses that this feature is purely optional, and for those who want to focus on offline play may do so entirely. But that's not to stop the developers from teasing much more of the modern-day mode.

"Definitely the gameplay, the feeling, and the mood of the present day will be a big surprise for people," said Ismael to Eurogamer. "We're pushing the narrative of the Assassin/Templar feud both in the present day and in the past. The reason you're researching Edward Kenway is he did something very special in the past, very specific."

Call of Duty: Ghosts on the importance of man's best friend

When the canine companion, now named Riley, was first rumored, it seemed like a very trivial thing to be a big part of the game. But now, it seems that reports point to Riley having a big part in Call of Duty: Ghosts.

In the pre-E3 delivered by Activision, the details of the game were revealed, particularly the plot, which sees you in a catastrophic environment with no hope for backup from a force, other than your canine companion.

You also have a brother companion, but in some parts of the gameplay, it was shown that you can fully control Riley both as a companion and as your own personal bodyguard and even weapon.

The report emphasizes him being able to take out enemies, patrol the area so you can see the surroundings from his point of view via a camera, and even act as a distraction for enemies.

EA delves into Star Wars and Sports

Spearheading its E3 2013 reveal, EA has finally revealed two of its major directions in terms of which games people may expect to come out for the next-gen platforms.

For Star Was, GameSpot reports that it's looking to develop the Star Wars Battlefront game. While there aren't any details on the platforms or the timeline for release, EA's newest development may be a continuation of what had been started by the series back in 2004 and 2005.

Aside from Star Wars, EA Sports will also be launching the UFC game to both the next-generation consoles, Xbox One and PS4. There are two things to look forward to for this installment, the first being that the game runs on Ignite engine, while the second is that it will showcase MMAI system, to mimic the behavior and techniques of the fighters on real-life action and instinct.
