The Planned Parenthood controversy further deepens as a second undercover video surfaced on Tuesday that showed a doctor from the pro-choice group allegedly haggling over fetal body parts that were aborted. The reason that the female doctor, identified as Dr Mary Gatter, gave for the bargaining over aborted foetus parts is so “she can buy the luxury vehicle Lamborghini.”

Fox reports that Gatter was the president of the Planned Parenthood Medical Directors’ Council in 2014. She is still connected with the organisation in leadership and advisory roles at local and national levels. She and the undercover activists agreed to $100 for “intact tissue.”

The “incriminating” video is just one of 12 that the activist group Center for Medical Progress has in its possession, plus a lot of footage. David Daleiden, project lead of the center, said more similar videos would be expected from them in the future.

In the videotaped conversation on Feb 6, Gatter was quoted as saying, “It’s been years since I’ve talked about compensation, so let me figure out what others are getting.” She added, “If it’s in the ballpark then that’s fine, if it’s low we can bump it up.”

Gatter is aware that it is a crime to sell body parts of foetuses, so to avoid facing charges, she cited “costs associated with the use of our space, and all that kind of stuff” as an excuse for the $100 rate she is charging. Her justification is in line with Planned Parenthood’s policy that it charges for expenses occurred, but donates the aborted body parts.

The reference to the Lamborghini comes when Gatter tells the woman on her right, “I want a Lamborghini,” which she repeated. The vehicle costs about $200,000.

Daleiden said the video is “prima facie evidence of criminal activity at the highest level of Planned Parenthood.” In response to the video, Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications of Planned Parenthood, accused the center of heavily editing the video. He also called Daleiden’s group a discredited organisation.

Ferrero said in a statement, “What we see on this tape is a woman who says ‘we’re not in it for the money,’ and that any money must be related to reimbursement for costs.” Daleiden replied that the entire video, which runs for more than one hour, is posted online for people to determine if the center only chose to highlight certain parts to prove Gatter was negotiating for foetal body parts.

Planned Parenthood got more than $207 million in federal funds in 2012 - $46 million it received in 2015 for non-abortion-related activities. Press Secretary Josh Earnest said on Monday the White House would not reconsider federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

House Speaker John Boehner called the second video “sickening, disturbing and callous” as the first video. The first video had a Planned Parenthood doctor discussing foetal body parts prices over wine and salad.

However, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid believes Planned Parenthood did not breach federal law. He said the “edited videos should not take away from the important work Planned Parenthood does on behalf of women.”

Reid points out that human fetal tissue have been used for biomedical research for a long time, including the development of polio vaccine, reports Dailycaller. Besides Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also defended the pro-choice group last week.
