Google released on Thursday its new smartphones Pixel and Pixel XL. The Pixel XL has good reviews based on its features but it still needs to outdo the iPhone 7.

Google boasts that the Pixel camera is the best in the market. It has been supported with the rating from the website DxOMark, which gave the Pixel an 89/100 rating while the iPhone only scored 86/100. The Pixel features a 12.3MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.55-micron pixels. It also features an HDR+ shooting mode helps combine multiple exposures that give vivid images. The Pixel camera wins in this battle.

But when it comes to the optical image stabilisation (OIS), the Verge found out that the Pixel's camera works only on its video. The iPhone 7 has better OIS which lessens the camera shake. The OIS can also pull off better low-light shots.

GSMArena has tested the two smartphones in a performance speed test, and based on the result, the iPhone 7 loads the games faster than its competitor.

When it comes to usability and features, both mobile phones offer voice-enabled assistants. IPhone 7 has Siri while Pixel has Google Now. Both phones have fingerprint scanners that allow users to pay for groceries.

Pixel has Google Duo which is almost the same as iPhone's FaceTime. Both platforms have Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and WhatsApp.

When it comes to battery life, Pixel can last up to 36 hours in moderate use. Its 3,450mAh non-removable battery only requires two hours of charging. Based on Phone Arena's review iPhone 7 must be charged no less than three hours and 20 minutes to get a fully charged battery.

Based on the categories mentioned, Pixel wins when it comes to camera features, but iPhone 7 wins on its OIS feature. However, there are factors that must be considered to decide which among the two mobile phones have the longer battery life.
