Pippa Middleton’s wedding is just a few short months away and the details of the big day are getting finer and finer. The most recent news involves the role of sister Kate Middleton, who is not expected to walk down the aisle with Pippa.

According to the Sun, the Duchess of Cambridge has offered to look after all the kids at the wedding in order not to outshine Pippa. “Kate wants her sister to be in the spotlight, so [she] is taking a step back,” a source told the publication. “Pippa has invited everyone’s children to her wedding, but Kate is going to babysit all the little ones on the big day.”

The source went on to note that because of Kate’s offer, Pippa’s guests are no longer going to be bringing their own nannies. The bride-to-be is reportedly under heavy stress because of the her upcoming nuptials, and her older sister is doing what she can to ease the pressure. In addition, the source also claimed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will not be part of the wedding either.

Kate apparently thinks it is not the right time for the children to be walking down the aisle, even if it is for their aunt’s wedding. “They’re even thinking of not having George as a page boy or Charlotte as a flower girl,” the same source said. “Kate feels they’re too young.” While the royals might be considered too young to take part in the event, the choice might also have stemmed from the feat that George or Charlotte would steal some of Pippa’s limelight.

Various media outlets previously reported that Kate would be a reader at the ceremony, a role that would give her a part in Pippa’s wedding without overshadowing her. No matter what her role, the Duchess is sure to be there with her entire family in tow. It has also been rumoured that Prince Harry and his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, will also be in attendance.

Pippa will wed hedge fund manager James Matthews in May at the St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. After which, the couple and their guests will head back to the Middleton family home for the reception. A total of 400 guests are expected to be in attendance and will be housed by a luxurious marquee across the family grounds.
