Life goes on for Irish actor Pierce Brosnan as he returns to work on Tuesday in Belgrade, Sebia just a couple of days after his daughter, Charlotte, died battling ovarian cancer. The former James Bond actor temporarily left filming last week when his daughter's health condition worsened but now he has returned to the set to continue with work on the upcoming spy thriller movie project "November Man."

Pierce Brosnan has been busy filming "November Man" since May 2013 where he portrays the role of an ex-CIA operative with co-star Olga Kurylenko. The 60-year-old actor flew back to London to join his family and be at his daughter's side when she passed away on Friday, June 28, at 2 p.m.

The news about Charlotte Brosnan's death came from the actor in a released statement. Pierce officially declared: "On June 28 my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean."

"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences," the devastated father further added.

The Mirror News reports that Pierce Brosnan even walked the already sick Charlotte down the aisle when she secretly wed artist Alex Smith two weeks before losing to the battle with cancer. An unnamed wedding guest shared the moving experience to the Sun. "It wasn't a day to be sad. Alex and Pierce were smiling broadly," the guest stated.

Charlotte was only 9 years old when Pierce Brosnan married her mother Cassandra Harris, an Australian actress who portrayed a Bond girl in the film "For Your Eyes Only." Even though Pierce is not Charlotte's biological father, the actor revealed that the always had a close relationship with Charlotte as well as her brother Christopher.

"We just clicked as a family. To begin with I was Pierce, then I was Daddy Pierce and then I just became Dad. Charlotte and Chris have just been amazing in my life," Brosnan revealed. The actor legally adopted the two kids after Dermot Harris, their biological father, passed away in 1986 and their surnames were changed to Brosnan.
