As everyone waits for the arrival of the baby destined to rule a portion the world, the British royals chose to keep Kate Middleton's pregnancy private. Aside from her public and very proper (but boring) public appearances, the public is left wanting for juicier and more intimate tidbits. Fortunately for millions of people who want a glimpse of Kate and Prince William's private lives, photographer Alison Jackson has some pretty good shots - of lookalikes!

No, they're not really the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. That's not Pippa Middleton or Prince Harry. And those are definitely not Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles and Camilla. The photographer managed to find actors who look extraordinarily like the royal couple and their family and friends.

Yes, they're fake, but they're also strangely interesting. Let's face it, it would be near impossible for the public to get a peek of what's happening behind the palace walls, so this is the best that we can get.

Set to appear like private family collection and discreet paparazzi shots (hence the deliberate grainy shots of some pics), the pictures represent homely family life. Jackson even designed her Web site to look like an online gossip site.

What's so endearing about Jackson's photos is that she made them look like William and Kate and the rest of the gang are just any other typical family expecting the newest addition to their brood. We can't really expect William to wash his own car or Kate to do laundry the old fashioned way, but that's part of the photos' charm.

The photos humanise unreachable royals, making them look like the friends whom people want to have. They're fake, but they're fantasy. Although no one is really fooled that the powerful royal family are just really simple people who do mundane, everyday tasks, Jackson's photos are still addicting. They are funny because they are extremely silly.

Jackson doesn't just do "royal" photography; she also has private home shots of other "celebrities," such as Russell Brand, Robert De Niro, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Bill Gates, Johnny Depp, Simon Cowell, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Julian Assange, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Meanwhile, the royal baby, who will grace the world with his or her presence any day now, already has an official title. Will and Kate still don't know their baby's gender, but they already have a very impressive title for their future ruler.

"The royal couple's child will officially be known as His or Her Royal Highness Prince or Princess of Cambridge," a rep for Kensington Palace told Us Weekly magazine.
